variousing

Cheers Paul. Fully understand pressures. We will work with such things, in order to make it happen. As you say, with enough lead in... Fine. Club Sporadic have us down for 25th as agreed; so wouldn't want to let them down. Sure you feel same. You may be right in thinking social setting may work in favour of keeping the thing vital, unoverloaded, unoverdiscussed (if those are words! If not, they should be!). I personally envisage keeping murmurists a travel-light arrangement; at least in terms of complex and time-consuming preparation being kept to a manageable level. I'm happy, at this stage, to act as catalyst, insofar as I'm fine emailing reminders, making suggestions etc.; so long as there is sufficient commitment to respond. The model for me is something like Fluxus - if you know the group; as opposed to, say, Led Zeppelin! That is, I'm seeing it as a collective-type affair, albeit around a substantive, meaningful, and conceptually-defined nucleus (the Fluxus bit), rather than a tightknit ensemble environment ripe for uberclaustraphilia and inevitable break-up over music differences or overdosing drummer (the Zepp bit)! In the end, though, it isalways a case of suck it and see. Hope you are well. We need to discuss stuff about our project, murmurists. Does anyone know whether Barry is involved in Shane's session? If it is just the four of us, a few ideas thrown around regarding what our improv might broadly entail may be a good starting point; plus, what equipment we are intending to use; and, with that, logistics regarding utilisation of Shane's single plug! Conceptually, performance-wise. it would be good if we don't go for or end up with the usual improv cacophony; so a strategy of some kind might be good. Personally, I really like the fact that the four of us have never worked as a foursome before! I'd like to retain that, by not pinning too much down. Great that you three know one another's playing/way of doing things, and I have only had the single jam with Roger. What's the worst that could happen?! Social gathering Thursday might not be best for such discussion, as we will get waylaid! Suggestions? Meet before? Meet instead? Meet another time? Please let me know asap.
